Transferable Skills
What I’ve learned in my career and rescue work:
Project Management: Balancing multiple priorities while keeping everything on track.
Budgeting & Fundraising: From managing program budgets to raising thousands for rescue efforts, I know how to make resources stretch.
AI-Driven Content & Workflow Optimization: Use generative AI to support instructional design, content development, and day-to-day operations. Apply AI tools to quickly draft training materials, communications, and campaigns, while refining outputs to ensure accuracy, tone, and audience alignment.
Communication: Whether I’m coaching learners, presenting to stakeholders, or sharing rescue stories on TV, I know how to connect.
Empathy & Relationship Building: Building trust, strengthening partnerships, and understanding the needs of others—these are at the heart of everything I do.
Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong relationships across cross-functional teams, clients, partners, and volunteers. Align priorities, manage expectations, and navigate competing needs to keep projects and programs moving forward effectively.
Adoption matchmaking just got a tech upgrade!
This lighthearted training video is one I created to explore how AI can support rescue teams—without ever replacing the human touch.
Designed for new volunteers, it walks through how AI can help guide decision-making, offer consistency, and reduce bias during the adoption process. I kept it simple, practical, and fun—because training should feel approachable and real.
Just one example of how I use creativity and tech to solve problems in the rescue (and training) world.
I am currently learning Articulate 360 and really enjoying the process. While I am using the free trial version and cannot share the full online course, I’m excited to provide this PDF sample of a time management training I created. This course showcases several interactive elements—including knowledge checks, activities, and reflection prompts—designed to engage learners and reinforce key skills. I developed this course from start to finish, collaborating with ChatGPT to brainstorm topics, structure lessons, and craft content that’s practical, accessible, and easy to follow. I’m eager to continue growing my eLearning skills and would love to discuss my design process or walk you through the course in more detail.
I’ve been diving into AI, getting my Google AI Certificate, but instead of just learning the tools, I wanted to actually use them in a real-world way—so I tested them inside my dog rescue.
In these two short videos, I explored how AI can go beyond simple content generation and actually improve day-to-day workflows. Using Gemini, I created a custom social media assistant designed specifically for a nonprofit dog rescue—focused on writing engaging, action-driven content for adoptions, fosters, and fundraising.
I also used NotebookLM to transform a 90+ page internal operations guide into an interactive, searchable resource—allowing volunteers to ask real-time questions instead of digging through documentation.
These videos are intentionally casual and reflect real-time learning (you’ll catch a few typos…and definitely a few “umms”), but that’s kind of the point. This is what it looks like to test, iterate, and apply AI in a way that actually reduces friction and makes people’s lives easier.
I’m especially interested in how AI can be used not just to create content, but to build smarter, more scalable systems.
Built a custom AI social media assistant to create engaging, action-driven rescue content for adoptions, fosters, and fundraising.
Turned a 90+ page operations guide into an interactive, ask-anything tool so volunteers can get real-time answers without digging through documents.
This sample Policies and Procedures manual was created to demonstrate my ability to develop clear, well-organized policy documentation. While it is only a brief example, these pages highlight my approach to structuring essential information in a way that is easy to understand and reference. All content is generic, with no proprietary or confidential information included. The sample reflects my commitment to clarity, compliance, and supporting both new and experienced team members through effective, user-friendly documentation.

One of the featured resources on my site is the Pack Leaders Guide—a Google website I created specifically for our foster volunteers. This site serves as a central hub, providing easy access to information and resources needed at every stage of the fostering process. While it isn’t designed to be interactive, its straightforward layout and clear organization allow fosters to quickly find answers and guidance when they need it most. My focus was on making critical information accessible, intuitive, and easy to navigate, supporting our team’s success in real time.

I’m also excited to share the Forever Home Faceoff document, which highlights my creativity and ability to organize and communicate ideas effectively. This project was designed as a fun, engaging challenge to promote dog adoptions, and showcases my skills in event planning, campaign development, and content organization. It’s a great example of how I combine creative thinking with practical execution to connect with the community and drive positive results.

Website Contributions
While I didn’t design the full site myself, I hired and directed a designer to bring the vision to life. Since launch, I’ve managed all updates and content—and the pages below are ones I created entirely on my own. From layout to copy, they reflect my voice, values, and commitment to creating a helpful, user-friendly experience.
Community Resource Page: https://pipsrescue.org/community/
Built to support pet owners before they reach a breaking point, this page connects families with local resources for vet care, food, behavior help, and more. It's designed to be easy to navigate and filled with practical, judgment-free support to help keep pets where they belong—home.
Dogs with Disabilities Resource Page: https://pipsrescue.org/resources/
A heart project. This page offers real-world tools and tips for people caring for disabled dogs. From wheelchairs to skin care to success stories, it’s packed with encouragement, empathy, and hard-won experience to make life better for pets with special needs.
Donation Page: https://pipsrescue.org/donate-2/
Simple, clear, and mission-driven. This page breaks down how donations make an impact and offers multiple ways to give—from one-time gifts to monthly support. It’s designed to inspire action while showing gratitude every step of the way.
Included in my portfolio are two training design samples: a training outline and a storyboard. Both were created specifically for demonstration purposes, using a combination of Canva and PowerPoint to showcase my instructional design process. These examples highlight my ability to structure engaging, learner-focused training programs from the planning phase through to detailed content development. They reflect my approach to organization, visual clarity, and the use of accessible tools to bring training concepts to life.
In 2024, I had the honor of presenting on behalf of Perfectly Imperfect Pups to 100 Women Who Give a Hoot, a local philanthropic group dedicated to supporting nonprofits making an impact in the community. Our presentation shared the mission of PIPs, the challenges we face, and the transformative programs we’ve built to save and support dogs with medical and behavioral needs.
The experience not only gave us the opportunity to highlight our work, but it also secured critical funding that allows us to expand our reach and continue saying “yes” to the dogs who need us most.
You can view the full presentation here, including both the video of my talk and the accompanying PowerPoint slides.
